Holding on or Allowing yourself to be Held?

Aloha,

A friend of mine in my mediation school told me this week that she wasn't holding herself together that day like she usually could.  She had had a migraine the day before and her energy was a bit blown out.  When I tuned into her, I could see what she was talking about BUT I could also feel the part of her that wasn't blown out -- That was very much awake and on point.

This, holding ourselves together that a lot of us do, can be counteractive to spiritual pursuits.  Part of aligning ourselves with our bigger parts, and allowing some of the negative patterns and beliefs to fall away is  -- not holding ourselves together like we usually do..

No, I am not saying we all need to stay home and cry for days or be a hermit..etc.

What I am trying to express is  - this "holding ourselves together" can become a sort of rigidity that maintains the thoughts and beliefs that are keeping us in our current paradigm and our current blocks.  Precisely, what holds us back from the things we truly want.

My suggestion to her and to all of us -- is to allow yourself to be held from above, be open, be receptive.
Rather than trying to HOLD ON - yuck!
You can feel it even in the words -- its feels like we are trying to force something..

What exactly are we HOLDING ON to?

I posit that we are holding on to old ways of doing things..  and not allowing divine impulses to land, not allowing fluidity, magic and clarity to connect with us.  --Sometimes.

Of course we need to not fly off the handle sometimes, but other times...

Perhaps when we are on a long road trip (to Hana) with someone that's getting on our nerves.  Do you we need to HOLD ON? or can we say I need 20 minutes of quiet time.

Or our partner is having a hard time and we just don't have the bandwidth at the moment, we can say - Can I support you tomorrow at x:xx time on this? I don't have the bandwidth right now.

Holding on or Allowing yourself to be held?
- Your choice.
